Schapelle Corby is innocent?

Yeah right, here some pointers if you really think she's innocent:

  • Get the real owner of the drugs to speak.
  • Find the airport worker who planted the drugs.
  • Put the whole Corby family through a lie-detector test. Maybe someone planted the drugs on her.
  • Put the customs officers through a lie detector test.
  • Put Schapelle though a lie detector test to jog her memory. Maybe there is a piece of evidence she has forgotten.
  • Put Dodgy Ron Bakir through a lie detector test to see what his real motives are regarding this case.
  • Put a bounty out for evidence leading to the conviction of the real drug owner.

  • From: http://www.baliblog.com/05-05/schapelle-corby-is-innocent.html

When u guys managed the above, then we can talk some more. :)

    Glad you're so sure.
    Now, to these ludicrous "points"

    # Get the real owner of the drugs to speak.

OH yeah, sure, the real owner of the drugs is going to come forward and put himself in jail - because drug dealers are so very, very ethical like that, aren't they?

    # Find the airport worker who planted the drugs.

Well, airport workers who have been planting harder drugs have been found and sacked. Next?

    # Put the whole Corby family through a lie-detector test. Maybe someone planted the drugs on her.

Can Indonesia afford lie-detectors? I for one would love for lie-detector tests to be done.

    # Put the customs officers through a lie detector test.

Not our call, only the Indo courts can do that and they aren't planning on it, because they're Indonesian so they must be right. Hypocrites.

    # Put Schapelle though a lie detector test to jog her memory. Maybe there is a piece of evidence she has forgotten.

You already said this, so short of evidence you need to repeat points?

    # Put Dodgy Ron Bakir through a lie detector test to see what his real motives are regarding this case.

Yes, Ron Bakir is part of a conspiracy to smuggle soft drugs into Indonesia. Nice call with absolutely no evidence, but then again, Indonesia is used to doing that, isn't it?

    # Put a bounty out for evidence leading to the conviction of the real drug owner.

Been done. Next stop? Oh right, that's the end of the list.

Once again, absolutely nothing credible in the anti-Corby case.

It would be so easy for the Indonesian judicial system to influence me that Schapelle is guilty of drug trafficking. The only requirement that needs to be done is for the prosecution to provide evidence like video or audio recordings showing Schapelle claiming to have admitted smuggled in marijuana. That would be sufficient evidence, from my point of view.

So far, I find it very disturbing that judges in Bali can take the word of a customs officer over the word of a tourist. If the Bali judges can take the word of a customs officer as evidence, then they can't dismiss the word of a person being charged with the possession.

They found 4kilos of cannabis on her bag, that sound like evidence to you mate?

Million of tourists come to Bali, how many of them carry cannabis on her bag and claim they don't know anything about it?

Sounds like evidence there was cannabis in her bag. Whether it was hers or not - what you need to prove in a civilised country before you bang someone up in jail for twenty years - is the part that there is not one shred of physical evidence to support. No, that sounds like an accusation. People could one day plant drugs onto you or someone you know and then your or they could be subjected to the same harsh laws as Corby.

Evidence is what you use to prove that Schapelle Corby tried to prevent a customs official from inspecting the contents of her bag, or confessed to owning the marijuana.

Because there was no evidence to show proof in Corby's guilt, the judge should have thrown the case out of court. However, because of some out-of-date/illogical laws that Indonesia rules by, it is "guilty until proven innocent". I don't know why you would support such a stupid justice system. But, knowing your attitude so far, you are just a lost cause.

Why would someone (those corrupted baggage handlers...?) transport drugs on an airplane from Brisbane to Sydney? Then forgetting to remove it.... Why dont drive instead and avoid airport security? BTW: She has admitted to have carried the bag and should have noticed the weight difference. Reportedly the handle was destroyed...........And offcourse the indonesian custom officers are lying, too....

That would be a good point, except for the fact that security doesn't exist solely at airports. Police can do random stoppages of cars and check for drugs.

I think Schapelle was trying to be polite in court by blaming the planting of drugs by baggage handlers in Australia. There is always the possibility that Bali baggage handlers planted the drugs. So, if drugs of that quantity were not found in Sydney or Brisbane airport, then baggage handlers at those airports were either incompetent or lying. Or someone planted the drugs in Schapelle's possession in Bali.

we've all seen the war on drugs fail miserably in the developed world, so why people still believe this sentance is a solution is beyond me.

and the developing world does not have to listen to us when they implement their laws ... so uptill here, fair enough

If you are so sure that she is guilty, then why don't you send in your evidence to support your case against Corby? I hope someone plants drugs on you. It would be poetic justice to see you contradict your own argument. Then you would be "opening your fuckin' eyes" to the fact that you are supporting a stupid legal system.

Can one of you "Corby is guilty" people give me an honest answer to this hypothetical scenario:

Imagine a situation where a person walked into your unlocked Bali home (while you were at work) and planted 500 grams of marijuana in your home. Since you guys are so obsessed with believing Australian tourists are drug smugglers, let's say that an Australian planted the marijuana drugs there. After the smuggler leaves your home, he/she gets a local to make an anonymous phone call to the police to say that YOU are dealing drugs. The police come along to your house, find the drugs, and then arrest YOU for possession.

But, because the smuggler used locally grown marijuana, the authorities can't trace it to an Australian tourist. Because the smuggler has used gloves, there are no traces of finger prints on the drugs or anywhere in your house that link to the drug smuggler.

The police say that because you are the owner of the home, the drugs must be yours. The judges have to take the word of the police officers over you, and you get 10 years jail.

What would you do to try and prove that you are innocent? Would you accept the decision of the judges that found you guilty?

I have to ask this, because I want to know how you would deal with a set up like that.

WHY would anyone smuggle marijuana into Bali when it's supposed to be cheaper there? And why would a pretty girl with good prospects do such a stupid thing anyway?

That's the thinking behind the outpouring of vitriol in Australia after 27-year-old Schapelle Corby was found guilty and jailed for 20 years by a Bali court on Friday for drug trafficking.

But, swamped by the chorus of calls for tourism boycotts, diplomatic protests, court appeals and even the return of tsunami donations, were the voices of Aussie legal experts who believe the Bali judges made the right decision.

Separate the emotion from the evidence, they argue, and the case against the former beauty school student would have had her convicted in any country.
Other reports pointed out that she's not the innocent-abroad her supporters have portrayed her as

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, for Westerners who live in Bali, buying marijuana locally is extremely risky, as the seller could be an undercover cop or police informer.
So, they will pay a premium to buy it off another Westerner.

But The Australian unearthed court documents that showed her half-brother, Clinton Rose, 22, had an extensive criminal history.

Six weeks before Corby was arrested, he was jailed for 18 months in Brisbane on 62 counts ranging from burglary to fraud. He also has two convictions for drug possession. Corby had visited him in jail before her own arrest.

Her father, Mr Michael Corby, admitted to The Courier Mail that he had been fined A$400 for possessing two grams of marijuana when he was about his daughter's age.

Like his daughter, he maintains to this day that the drugs were not his

The reality is is that her sister used her as mule to bring in the drugs due to a shortage of high quality marijuana in Bali. ! All you Womans Day & Weekly readers who believe she's innocent wake up and smell the marijuana ! oops I mean coffee. The judicial system has found her guilty end of story...There are Australians that are in jails around world who are innocent ! Chapelle Corby isn't one of them...! Wake up !
